Customer Background

Cloud Videos was launched in 2015 out of Europe as a new product in a new market for it’s parent company. In other words, they knew they needed to enlist the help of an experienced marketer to start off on the right foot.

The product is a video-on-demand service accessible in several European countries. Viewers have their choice of entertainment similar to Netflix, however they get content curated specifically for their region and language preferences. It’s was an exciting product and we were happy to be part of it.

Strategy Selection

Although the product had been developed, we went through a number of exercises to help them create a strong marketing strategy. First and foremost we had to work on the brand. The original name wasn’t Cloud Videos, but we felt that this new name would resonate with end users on a global scale allowing the company room to grow.

We then provided feedback on what would be the best way to lay out information for both users and indexing bots like Google. This can be a challenge because while most people understand what they want and like from a personal aesthetic they may not understand how to make a product convert using their digital assets as well as complying with regulatory guidelines from companies like Google.

Lastly, we created custom ads and selected high level targeting options for their campaigns. This ensured that not only was the message clear, but it was getting to the right people at the right time. And of course, we make sure there was ample tracking so that we could provide them key insights for future improvements.

Results

When all was said and done, we were able to get their product launched in five countries and three languages. And while the typical product takes 2 years to be profitable, select countries were profitable in under 6 months after launch.

Oatka Media was actually not the only agency working on ads for this particular product. For a short time there was another agency that was being benchmarked against our services and we were able to get between 30-80% better ROI than the competing agency. Needless to say, our results and methods were proven effective creating yet another success story to share!
